Be sure to check out the specific rules and badge rates for Ventnor, Avalon, Stone Harbor, Long Beach Island, or wherever else you’re staying on the shore.

Alternatively, plan your trip so that you can hit the beach outside of peak hours—badges are only necessary between Memorial Day and Labor Day. You also don’t need a badge if you visit before nine in the morning or after five in the afternoon. During the day, though, badge checkers will walk around to make sure you have your beach badge.
