1. Lighthouse Night Climb & Live Music – Barnegat Light

Head to the north end of Long Beach Island for the Lighthouse Night Climb & Live Music at Barnegat Lighthouse State Park. Visitors can enjoy an evening at one of LBI's most recognizable landmarks while taking in live music and the special experience of visiting "Old Barney" after dark.
It's a great excuse to spend the afternoon exploring Barnegat Light, grab dinner nearby and finish the evening at the lighthouse.

2. LBI Paracon – Beach Haven

Looking for something completely different to do on LBI?
The LBI Historical Museum in Beach Haven hosts LBI Paracon, an immersive paranormal and psychic experience inside its historic 1882 building.
The day includes paranormal speakers and demonstrations, vendors and artists, a haunted objects experience room, historical insights and opportunities to schedule sessions with mediums and tarot card readers. There's even an after-dark VIP paranormal investigation experience.
Whether you're a believer or just curious, this is definitely one of the more unusual LBI events of summer 2026.

3. Cosmic Jerry Band at Buckalew's – Beach Haven

Grateful Dead fans have a great reason to head to Beach Haven Friday night.
The Cosmic Jerry Band comes to Buckalew's Tavern on August 28. The New Jersey-based band celebrates the music and spirit surrounding Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead, making this a fun live-music option for adults spending the weekend on Long Beach Island.
Make an evening of it with dinner in Beach Haven followed by live music at one of the island's longtime gathering spots.

4. Firepit Friday on the Beach – Brant Beach
Friday, August 28 | 7:00 PM–9:00 PM
Live music, the ocean and a summer night on the beach — it doesn't get much more LBI than this.
Long Beach Township's popular Firepit Friday series returns to the 68th Street Ocean Beach in Brant Beach on August 28, with Simmerr scheduled to perform.
The event runs from 7:00–9:00 PM and features live music along with food and drinks available from local vendors. Bring your beach chairs or blankets and enjoy one of the final Friday nights of August right on the sand.

5. Snow White at Surflight Theatre – Beach Haven
August 26–30 | 6:00 PM
Need something special for the kids?
The Surflight Children's Theatre in Beach Haven presents Snow White August 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30, with performances beginning at 6:00 PM.
Surflight's children's productions are specifically designed to entertain younger audiences, particularly kids ages 3–10, making this a terrific evening activity for families vacationing on LBI.
And with the theatre located in the heart of Beach Haven, you can easily combine the show with dinner, ice cream or a walk around town.
